The absolute best way to begin your fitness journey is by starting ;) Ok I know everyone knows that but what I feel everyone is missing (seem my comments) is a strong foundational base before diving into the heavy weights with bad form.
To be the most prepared for the heavier weights and for showing how strong you truly are, I would highly recommend beginning with your own bodyweight and learning the classic exercises like the Push Up and the Pull up. This form of training can be taken a step further with Calisthenics training. Calisthenics is a bodyweight training system that will improve your movement, mobility, create body awareness, amazing control and will strengthen areas that weights cannot. It is VERY easy to take anywhere and everywhere. Don’t be fooled though, your body is an amazing machine and you will be quite surprised to see what these classic exercises can become. Picture a back lever or l-sit (Google it if you have too), it’s something all people can achieve and the absolute BEST way to start training before you learn how to squat, bench and deadlift or bicep curl ;)
